Timber has been a close friend of mine since middle school. In fact, she has consistently been one of my best friends since then. In my first semester of college, she was my roommate! Our similar goals, values, and beliefs have kept us close all these years. We have so many fun memories together and my relationship with her has taught me many lessons. One of those being the importance of confidence. Timber is hands down the most confident friend I have and I really look up to her for that. I know we all have psychological vultures, but we don’t all know how to handle them. Timber’s ability to fight off psychological vultures is something I have always admired.
Self-esteem is huge when it comes to intrapersonal communication. Timber not only has high self-esteem, but she builds the esteem of others around her too. She certainly has built mine up. I know that being around her will make me feel uplifted and good about myself. For example, Timber will give me compliments or give me words of encouragement when I am down. In my first semester of college I rapidly lost 30 pounds because of an illness I was dealing with. I began to be really insecure about how tiny I looked but Timber was there to improve the way I thought of myself. I think that everyone needs a friend like Timber in their lives. We are all beautiful and unique children of God, which is how He wants us to see ourselves. Being friends with Timber has helped me to see myself in that positive light.
